Tracking and Statistics Systems
For some time now, I’ve been referring to a poker tracker to check on something on my online games but unfortunately, I find it hard to interpret the data because of limited description provided.
Just like for an instance, one of the statistics I can view is the % of times I played a certain hand. However, most good players do not play every hand, but just instead select which hands to play based on certain things like position, pre-flop card strength and other players actions or moves.
There is also a stat that shows the % of times I played a hand, by which there’s no specific way of determining if I am still on the right track.
Any advice with regards to key statistics I should be monitoring and reviewing? And what the key statistic is? For an instance, monitoring number of hands played by which should be around 18%.
Thanks!
Matthew
Matthew,
The statistics you should be watching are the percentage of hands won depending on the hands played. This will give you a good basis to determine hands that may be causing problems.
The most important stats are of course related to actual money won and loss at the tables. Check out your losing sessions and see if you can find any trends to try and determine where there may be problems.
