On Good Hourly Rate
Hi!
Before anything, I would like to thank you again for all your help.
I have another question. I noticed that 3BB per hour is a good average, but is this something related to NL or limit holdem? Usually, I play .25/.50 and jump in .50/1.00 in all NL and my hour rate has been averaging around $13.00-$15.00 every hour. Any comment or the like about this?
Glad to hear from you soon. Thanks!
James
James,
The 3 big bets per hour rule is something that is related to Limit Holdem. No Limit Holdem is a little different since you will have big swings. Limit Holdem is all about winning pots and winning and saving bets.
The long term advantage is the ability to win a decent amount of big bets per hour. Adversely, in No Limit your goal is to win someone’s entire stack.
You can play for 5 hours and lose every hour and then suddenly win one massive pot and make yourself a nice winner for the day. You can’t do that in Limit.
