What to do When Someone is Cheating at the Table?
August 13, 2008 by mixke
Congratulations for having a great, helpful site!
I drop by to ask a question, something about cheating in a home game. In a certain game, one of the players was caught cheating several times. He was caught looking at the cards to come, switching his hand, moving flop cards around, even to the extent of merely rigging the deck. He usually plays and already been a friend to almost all of the players.
I have three questions about this cheating issue:
- If you catch that player but with no hard evidence and eventually denies the act of cheating, what should the other players in the table supposed to do?
- What necessary actions should be performed on that player, most especially if there is substantial evidence or proof?
- Should that player not be invited anymore in any game or what?
Thanks and more power to your site.

Landon,
- The players should watch him more closely to try and catch him in the act.
- The cheating player should be kicked out. I would withhold his money too.
- Do not invite this player back to the game. If the players won’t agree to this, don’t go to the game anymore. There is one game I will not frequent anymore due to cheating and an abusive host.
