The Stormy Season of Poker and Online Gambling

U.S Plans to Ignore WTO Verdict:
WTO, World trading organization promotes the online gambling and has given a trade verdict. However, United States trade is against the trade verdict of WTO and says that it is invalid. The reason is because United States never wanted WTO to include online gambling in its GATS (General Agreement on Tariffs and Services) and it believes that it is permitted to a mulligan of 13 years of history and 10 billion dollars of international trade. The U.S is planning to rewrite GATS and also it is planning to deny all the claims of the interested parties that would like to be a part of WTO for online gambling. By this act, U.S. is opening doors for the multi billion dollar damage claims, and threatens the current validity of the WTO and its freedom of the internet.

Proposed study of online gambling by Berkley:
The U.S. congressman Berkley has supported the study of online gambling and this has quickly drawn the support of 60 co-sponsors who were against the undemocratic bill that was passed earlier. Berkley’s bill was supported for the land based casinos and was never implemented as a bill in the Bush’s regime.

Lucky you panned by critics:
Opening of Lucky you was not great at the box office. Even though there was a good marketing, the competition was strong from Spider Man 3. If we keep the competition apart, Lucky You did not reach the audiences mood and it was described as mediocre romance with gratuitous poker scenes or a average poker movie with stupid love story. Either way, the movie so long and hence did not make up at the box office.

Court in North Carolina declares poker as a game of chance:
After a 3 year fight by a private businessman to open a poker club, the court declares the game as a game of chance and not a game of luck. Naturally this case might have been argued by people who do not play the game, or understand the poker rules.

Texas Poker Bill has moved:
Texas has finally decided to legalize the free poker game. This bill has passed on to the committee and is due for vote this week. The bill was sponsored by Jose Menendez and he informs that anyone can find and play poker in Texas anywhere and anytime. Texas has thought to get the benefit from the game than to make the criminals benefit from the millions of dollars.

Recast of Gaming Life Expo by WSOP as “Men’s Life Style Show”
The U.S online poker sites would be empty without the Life Style show at this summer’s world series of poker (WSOP). WSOP shall be recasting the show for four days as a lifestyle show and thinks it is a method to rework the history. The Rio marketing director, David Koloski says that it is just a transition that they are planning for.
