1. In Texas Hold’em, each player will be dealt two cards. In the beginning, two players sitting to left of dealer put their blinds. Now, the player to the left of dealer puts out small blinds, and the player sitting two seats from the dealer puts big blind.

2. In the game, each player will be dealt two cards face down. These are pocket cards.

3. The first move is taken by the player sitting next to big blind. Players can raise, call, or fold. Later betting continues in clockwise direction.

4. After the betting round is completed, three cards will be dealt face up, and are placed on the center of the table. This step is called board. Three cards used in Texas Hold’em are called flop. These three cards resemble community cards, as the name suggests everyone can use these cards to make best possible hand.

5. Next, the flop betting begins, and this time it starts from the player sitting left of the dealer. This player can either bet or check.

6. The fourth card is dealt face up, and it is called a turn or fourth street.
7. The next round of betting begins.

8. The final card will be dealt in the last round, face up. This last card is called river or Fifth Street.

9. Now, the final betting round occurs. In this round, all remaining players show their hands. The player who makes best five-card hands wins the board. Players can use three community cards, and two cards dealt to them for making the best five-cards hand.

Note: Few rare cases occur, where all players make best five cards hand. In that situation, the pot will be divided between all players.

In order to raise, fold, or call a bet, you should wait until your turn. You should not overrun to the situation and call the bet before any other player. This basic rule should be remembered always. You should not argue with the dealer, but concentrate on the game. In order to raise the bet you should lift your hand and then call raise.
