How to Play Pot Limit Texas Holdem
In pot limit Texas Hold’em, players bet the size of the pot which determines the maximum value a player can bet during the game. In other respects, the game resembles other types of the Texas Hold’em.
In pot limit Texas Hold’em, the person who is dealing is known as the dealer and a small disc with a ‘D’ written on it, is usually kept with the dealer. The disc is used to indicate the dealer among the group of players playing the game.
In pot limit Texas Hold’em, the position of the dealer shifts after every hand and the disc is rotated clockwise so as to indicate the new dealer. The person to the left of the dealer is the small blind whereas the person beside the small blind is known as the big blind. Like the dealer, the position of the blinds also keeps changing clockwise.
All the 52 cards of the deck are required for playing the pot limit Texas Hold’em and the first three community cards are known as the ‘flop’. The cards are dealt and a round of betting is carried out so as to start the game. In each round of the pot limit Texas Hold’em, a player can either make a call, raise or a fold.
The person on the left of the big blind starts the betting and a round is over once the players have either entered the same amount in the pot or have opted to fold. All the players are required to take part in a round and the round is over when all the players have played their chances.
In the next round, the position of the dealer and the blinds changes and a new round of betting start. The game continues until there is a winner.
